The Parmelia Hilton Perth was built by Lord Alastair McAlpine and opened in 1968. The Hotel was named after the ship 'The Parmelia' which, in 1829 brought some of the first settlers to Perth.  In 1979, Hilton International was looking to build Perth's  best hotel - the Parmelia was perfect so it became the Parmelia Hilton.  The hotel holds special memories for many Perth people.  Today the hotel has 284 guestrooms including 61 Deluxe rooms and suites which have all been refreshed this year and is the home of the popular Adelphi Grill.
